Greetings...
Hello and welcome. My name is Steve Didham, I have been a Social Worker since 2001 and have worked in various sectors, including child welfare, custody/access, mental health, addictions and academia, among others. I have also worked in various Leadership roles for the last 20 years and bring that experience to my practice and approach. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers and a verified member of Psychology Today. I am also a member of The Helping Consortium, An Evidence-Informed Group of Helping Professionals to Enhance Personal, Family, Organizational, and Community Wellness (https://helpingconsortium.ca/).

Phoenix Consulting and Counselling is the culmination of a lifetime of unlearning, relearning, healing and personal growth and it has especially been my vision since early 2020, when external and internal events inspired me to do the deeper work. I am pleased to meet you and welcome you to my website.

I am passionate about helping my clients to work through personal challenges and trauma in order to reach their potential and live the lives they want to live. I have a solid knowledge base and considerable experience in supporting clients who have experienced trauma, loss, mental health issues, and more. I have completed training in a variety of therapeutic approaches that have proven effective in promoting healing and personal growth. I embed a reflexive, lived experience, trauma informed, EDID (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization) lens in my clinical and consulting services.

I am an equity lead trainer for the Ontario Association of Children's Aid Societies and have worked extensively with many social service agencies over the last several years.
As an Equity and Leadership consultant, I work with organizations and leaders in inspiring a shared vision of unlearning, relearning, healing and evolving as agencies pivot to a heart-centered and growth mindset leadership style that embeds an equity, reflexive and decolonization lens.

I also offer 1:1 Executive Coaching for Leaders and Professionals ready to take their skills to the next level.

Why Phoenix: A very close friend and mentor insisted on this name as the vision of my practice began to take hold, insisting there was no other name I could use. After some initial hesitation, I embraced the name.
In times of doubt and confusion, the Phoenix symbolizes strength, transformation and renewal. The logo has a lot of meaning that resonates with me. The "heart" is intentional and represents the connection of cognitive intelligence to emotional intelligence. The Phoenix represents the humanity within each of us that has the ability to heal and evolve.

I bring this lens to my work, both in counselling and in equity/leadership consultations and executive coaching, to provide a supportive place for you lean into the courage of vulnerability/speaking your truth and doing the deeper work. This is where the awakening journey begins.

If my services resonate with you, reach out... and let's begin.
